A Prayer for Embracing Self-Worth

(As if spoken while gently holding the hands of the survivor)

"Dear God,
We come before You with hearts that have been broken, with souls that have been wounded, and with minds that have been told lies about our worth. But in Your presence, we seek to reclaim the truth—that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, that our value does not change based on what has been done to us or what has been said about us. In Your love, we are worthy, always worthy.

As I hold the hands of my sister (or brother) in prayer, I ask that You fill every part of her being with the deep knowing that she is precious in Your sight. Let the shame and guilt she has carried be lifted. Let the lies of unworthiness, whispered by the world or by her own pain, be silenced by Your voice of truth.

Remind her, Lord, that no matter what she has been through, no matter how broken she feels, she is whole in Your eyes. She is beloved, and her worth cannot be tarnished. Wrap her in Your arms of love, just as we wrap these blankets around the hurting, and let her feel Your warmth surrounding her, protecting her, and reminding her that she is always, always enough.

May she walk forward from this moment with her head lifted high, knowing that she is a daughter (or son) of the King. She is royalty, created with purpose and beauty. Let her feel her own strength rise within her, and let her know that she is not alone.

We thank You, Lord, for the gift of her life. We thank You for her heart, her soul, and the incredible survivor she is. May she embrace her worth, today and every day, and may she be reminded that she is loved beyond measure.

In Your holy name,
Amen."
