A Prayer for Reconciliation and Healing

A Prayer for Reconciliation and Healing

Loving Father,
We come before You with open hearts, holding hands with [the survivor’s name], seeking Your peace and presence. In this moment, we lift up all the pain, the shame, the guilt, and the weight they have carried for so long.

Lord, we know that You see them, that You know their heart. You know every part of their story—the moments of fear, the struggle to forgive themselves, and the deep desire to be free from the burden of what was never their fault. Today, we ask that You gently remind them that they are not defined by what has happened to them, but by Your love that surrounds them even now.

Help them to see that they are worthy—worthy of love, of kindness, and of compassion, not only from others but from themselves. We ask that You give them the courage to release the guilt they’ve carried, the guilt that does not belong to them. Let them know that it’s okay to let go and rest in the truth that they are loved, not for anything they have done, but simply because they are Yours.

God, in this space, where the heart feels distant from the mind, we ask for reconciliation within. May the truths they know—that they are loved, forgiven, and whole—move from their mind to their heart, where healing begins. Let this be a journey of gentle acceptance, where they can slowly begin to love themselves again.

Surround them, Lord, with Your grace and tenderness. Remind them, when the shame tries to creep back in, that they are not to blame, that they are not broken or worthless, but beautiful and beloved, just as they are. Help them to forgive themselves for carrying burdens that were never theirs to bear.

We hold their hand now, just as You hold them in Your care. Let them feel Your presence, close and comforting, reminding them that they are never alone on this journey.

In Your name, we pray,
Amen.
