A Prayer for Letting Go of Shame
A Prayer for Letting Go of Shame
Heavenly Father,
I come to You today, holding the hand of [the survivor’s name] as they carry the weight of shame and guilt that has burdened their heart for too long. You see the pain that they’ve held in silence, the blame they’ve turned inward, and the fear that they are unworthy of love.
But Lord, we know that this shame is not theirs to carry. It was never meant for them. We ask You now to help them release this burden, to let go of the lies that have made them feel small, broken, or unworthy. Help them to see themselves through Your eyes, with love and compassion, just as You created them to be.
Let Your grace wash over them, renewing their spirit and reminding them that they are not defined by what happened to them, but by the truth that they are loved—deeply, completely, and without condition. Give them the strength to let go of the shame, to understand that they are not to blame, and to begin embracing the light of who they truly are.
Lord, we ask that in moments when the shame feels too heavy, You draw near to them. Let them feel Your presence surrounding them, holding them, and reminding them that they are worthy of love, of peace, and of joy.
As they let go of the shame, we ask You to fill that space with hope and healing. Help them walk in freedom, knowing that they are not alone, that You are with them, and that they are cherished.
In Your loving name, we pray,
Amen.
